SpringFour Partner of the Month: Meritrust Credit Union
Supporting hundreds of thousands of members with trusted financial health resources
Founded on a mission of improving the financial lives of its members, Meritrust Credit Union wanted to do more to expand those efforts. With several programs already focused on supporting financial literacy on offer, partnering with SpringFour was the next logical step.
With a quick and efficient deployment, the teams made the technology accessible to Meritrust members within months. Not a moment too soon –– with the US Federal Reserve’s decision to raise its benchmark interest rate for the first time since 2023, and credit debt now sitting at $1.26 trillion, the partnership comes at a critical time.
With Americans facing higher borrowing costs on top of high costs for groceries, gas and housing, many are falling behind on repayments. Access to SpringFour’s vetted resources gives the credit union’s 200,000 members as well as its employees the opportunity to reduce their expenses so they can free up cash to pay down debt.
Helping members confidently achieve their financial well-being goals
Founded in 1935, Meritrust Credit Union operates 33 branches across Kansas and Colorado. The original Meritrust was organized and chartered by seven employees of Stearman Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas. It then grew to include Boeing employees, their suppliers and Spirit AeroSystems before expanding.
In 2025, Meritrust merged with Premier Members Credit Union (PMCU), which was organized and chartered by seventeen Boulder Valley Schools employees in 1959. It grew to count employees of technology entities, farmers, manufacturing companies and the community at large among its members.
That history has built Meritrust as we know it –– a credit union that is dedicated to improving the lives of members and the communities they serve. In pursuit of that goal, Meritrust offers its consumers and businesses the tools and education they need to achieve their financial goals.
Partners aligned in purpose
SpringFour powers financial health by delivering financial health referrals to consumers in need. In 2025, the award-winning fintech delivered almost 8 million financial health referrals. Founder and CEO Rochelle Nawrocki Gorey says that it’s counting more and more credit unions as its partners.
“We are thrilled to partner with Meritrust to offer our financial health resources in areas of need like utility assistance, medical bill relief, food savings and employment services,” she said. “It’s exciting to see an increased interest from credit unions in making these resources available to their members and speaks to their commitment to prioritizing their members’ financial health. As more Americans face financial stress, our proven solution ensures that they avoid growing fraud and scams and connect with real help and find real financial relief.”
The SpringFour team curates, reviews, verifies, and continuously updates each one of its 25,000+ resources. Turning financially challenged borrowers into confident repaying customers, people who receive SpringFour referrals repay at 2 to 10 times the rate of those who don’t.
“At Meritrust, our purpose is to create financially healthy employees and members. SpringFour’s community resource platform expands that purpose by connecting both our members and employees with trusted local resources,” said Ashley Manning, Assistant Vice President of Financial Well Being at Meritrust. “By helping people access support for real-life challenges, Meritrust is empowering them to strengthen their financial health while creating a meaningful, lasting impact in the communities we serve. It is more than a tool; it is an investment in our members and our mission.”
Congratulations to our partner of the month, Meritrust Credit Union for putting its members’ financial health at the top of its priority list and making an impact on repayment rates, net credit losses, and customer trust.
